Aravinth Polymers has been forming plastic into useful, protective shapes in Chennai since 1995, from a single machine to a 4,500 sq.ft plant serving more than 200 customers.

Our story

Founded in 1995 to make packaging locally, properly

Gabriel Michaelsamy started Aravinth Polymers with one conviction: Indian manufacturers should not have to choose between reliable thermoformed packaging and an affordable one.

That meant investing in tooling capability early, learning the behaviour of every polymer we run, and treating a 500-piece trial order with the same discipline as a bulk schedule. Three decades later the same principle holds, and a large share of our work still comes from customers who started with a single trial tray.

How the plant grew

  • 1995. Founded in ChennaiGabriel Michaelsamy sets up Aravinth Polymers with a single vacuum forming machine and a hand-cut mould, supplying local engineering units.
  • Early years. Tooling brought in-houseRather than depending on outside toolrooms, mould design and making moves inside. Lead times drop and design revisions become routine.
  • Growth. Automatic roll forming addedFour automatic roll formers join the semi-automatic sheet machines, opening up thin-gauge blisters, clamshells and food trays at volume.
  • Diversification. Beyond industrial traysESD trays for electronics, rigid PVC blisters for pharma, food-contact trays for confectionery and hydroponic channels for agriculture.
  • Today, 4,500 sq.ft, 200+ customersSeven machines, seven polymers and a catalogue of 47+ standard products alongside fully custom work.
